Hockey at the Trop (Again)

Tropicana Field may be home to the Tampa Bay Rays these days, but back in the early '90s, it's where the Lightning played their home games. So like me, Andrew Warren would like to see them back there again for an awesome Stadium Series game!

Or maybe he meant Raymond James Stadium. Either way. If you can put a stadium game in southern California, surely you can put one in Florida.

To a Thousand More...

We're skipping Freak Out Friday this week to celebrate a special occasion.

Ever since Sun., Feb. 19, 2012, there has been a new concept post here on Icethetics every single day. That streak started 1,000 days ago and I'm excited to reach this crazy milestone.

A thousand straight days and I still have hundreds of your submissions sitting on my hard drive waiting to be shared with the world. Don't worry, they'll get there — one day at a time.

Since today is a special day, I thought I'd showcase a special designer — Bastian Schmülling — who, with his 54th concept post, has yet to let us down. And this Chicago Blackhawks design sure doesn't disappoint either.

With that, here's to 1,000 more days of uninterrupted hockey concepts!

(By the way, if we do make it to 2,000 consecutive days, that will happen on Thurs., Aug. 10, 2017 — just a month before the NHL embarks on its 100th anniversary season.)

What Tampa Bay Should Have Done

It's a shame Dylan Nowak doesn't work for the Tampa Bay Lightning. They really could've used his advice when coming up with their new third jersey — which debuts tonight, by the way. It'll be black and boring. But it could've been black and amazing. Well done, Dylan.

By the way, today marks the 999th consecutive day of new concept art on Icethetics. Tomorrow brings the 1,000th post!

Arizona Overhaul

What do you say we give the Arizona Coyotes a new set of uniforms that better fit their logo and history? Thierry Dick has just the thing.

Black Could Work Again in Philly

If the Philadelphia Flyers ever decide to try a third jersey that isn't the same color as the primary jersey — black could work. It has before. In fact, this concept by Alex Valvo is one of the better executions I've seen. What about you?
