Tigers of Hamilton

Throwback Week continues today with the Hamilton Tigers. Steven Grant has not one but two unique uniform ideas for the club — if it still existed today.

Maroon in Montreal

Welcome to Throwback Week! For the next few days, we'll be featuring concepts for teams that don't exist anymore — asking the question, what if they did? We're kicking it off with Bastian Schmülling and his modernized take on the Montreal Maroons.

One Final All-Star Overhaul

On the day of the 2015 NHL All-Star Game, Avi Stein is taking a shot at fixing the jerseys. Here's his explanation for the four-sweater look.

The general consensus about the NHL ASG uniforms is that they are pretty horrible. There are plenty of ways both the NHL and Reebok could have avoided the monstrosities that they released. For this concept, I came up with a solid solution (in my humble opinion), and fixed Reebok's mess.

For starters, there are actually two sets of uniforms that I have proposed. One for the Skills Competition, and one for the actual All-Star Game itself.

My reasoning for this is that the Skills Competition is extremely gimmicky, which is a great chance for the NHL to showcase a "gimmicky" uniform. And while the actual ASG isn't much better, it is a long-lasting traditional game (albeit not competitive) that deserves more than a one-off gimmicky jersey that's tacky.

When you look at an NHL All Star jersey, you should be able to identify it immediately as an ASG jersey, not a motocross jumpsuit. Since both the league and Reebok seem so fixated on chrome logos/neon piping/colors that stand out, there are some aspects that I kept around

Have a look.

So what do you think of Avi's solution? Did he hit the mark?

(By the way, my apologies for posting today's concept so late.)

Classic Boston Winter

Nick Burton sent in this jersey set just this morning for the 2016 NHL Winter Classic. And I couldn't hold off on posting them right away given today's news. What do you think? Would this make a good look for next season's big game?

Shark Fin Freak Out

Happy Freak Out Friday! Here's a good one for you. Patrik Gustafsson presents a third jersey design that would've been right at home in 1996. Sharks fan or not, would you buy one?
