Detroit Red Wings claim crown in NHL Tournament of Logos!
/I'm honored to announce the winner of Icethetics' 2017 NHL Tournament of Logos. Congratulations go to the inimitable Detroit Red Wings primary mark!
Throughout the 10-week tournament, it faced stiff competition from 92 other logos around the NHL but ultimately came out on top. The final was a close match-up with the Chicago Blackhawks' iconic crest. The Wings earned 52% of the vote to claim victory.
The winged wheel has been around in some form since 1932. The modern design we know today was first used in 1948. So it just as the logo enters its 70th year that we name it the best in the National Hockey League.
Congrats, Wings fans! You've always had bragging rights. Now you have the numbers to back it up.
