Winter Freak Out

How's this for a Freak Out Friday/Winter Classic crossover?  Chance Waddell's Blues jersey was inspired by the old St. Louis Flyers. And I think the Caps one was too. In fact, if you mix these two jerseys together, you pretty much get the St. Louis Flyers jersey exactly.

Better Blues

There are some NHL jerseys out there that could use some fixing. This week we've been taking care of that. Here, Brandon Cockeram has an idea for the St. Louis Blues, who get new home and road uniforms this fall. The only problem I see is the similarity to the old Penguins template.

Upgrading the Lightning

This week seems to be about fixing teams whose jersey designs have gone astray. The Lightning aren't in a bad place with their present look, but as Steven Grant points out, there are certainly some elements they could add to call back to their original uniforms. Like white shoulder yokes and a the victory stripes under the arms, for example.

Future Tradition

The Ducks' newly redesigned home and road jerseys make sense for right now. But eventually, I see the team following one of the better design trends in the NHL in the next couple decades. Traditional jerseys have been making a comeback and this set by newcomer Jacob Lazare could fit the bill while still retaining Anaheim's unique look and feel.

Another Flawless Fix for Ottawa

Over the years, I'm sure I've posted many concepts that elegantly demonstrate how easy it would be to raise the Ottawa Senators among the elite teams in terms of jersey design. What they have now is, frankly, terrible. It's just bad. And it's been around too long.

Justin Wiltron is the latest to show us one of the great possibilities that needs to become a reality. Or maybe I'm overhyping it. What's your take?
