The NHL's official online store — along with at least one other cyber retailer — apparently leaked the jerseys we'll see at the 2017 NHL Winter Classic in January. I grabbed the images above from Shop.NHL.com earlier this evening before they were removed from the site.
It looks like the St. Louis Blues were inspired by their original sweater from their debut season in 1967-68. The Chicago Blackhawks jersey, on the other hand, looks like a bizarre mix between their previous two outdoor sweaters — 2016 Stadium Series and 2015 Winter Classic.
Guess that's what happens when you get invited to play an outdoor game literally every year.
Not sure when we'll get official word on these jerseys. But the game is less than two months away — as is the Centennial Classic. A couple weeks ago, a video on the Toronto Maple Leafs website appeared to leak their outdoor jersey — a replica of the Toronto Arenas sweater.
What do you think of the new Winter Classic jerseys for the Blues and Blackhawks?
