As baseball season gets underway, I thought we could spend the weekend with something a little offbeat. Cameron Ferguson has designed hockey sweaters for all 30 MLB teams. Today we have the American League. Check back tomorrow for the National League.
Yesterday's concept and today's go together nicely — though there's no place more fitting for this use of teal than a Freak Out Friday. Lucas Daitchman is having some fun with trends of the '90s but I can't say the same for my eyes.
Here's an interesting one. Lucas Daitchman imagines a '90s throwback jersey that never was for the Philadelphia Flyers — complete with a third color that was almost introduced in a third jersey. Friday is close. Expect a continuation of this topic tomorrow.
The current Maple Leafs uniforms will be retired after this week as the team introduces a new look for their 100th anniversary season. But they'll also have a series of throwbacks throughout the year. David Kerr images some of them in today's concept.
