Ducks ready for 25th anniversary season

This week the Anaheim Ducks unveiled the logo they'll use to commemorate their 25th anniversary during the 2018-19 season. And there it is.

As you can see the Ducks' primary logo has been merged with the five to form a very simple yet very Anaheim "25" mark. It's received mostly negative reaction over the past couple of days as far as I can tell. And I don't really understand that.

Sure, the "5" shape is a bit unusual, but it's a uniquely Ducks design that is very clear on what it is. And no one can claim it was stolen or otherwise "borrowed" from anything else. Nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, I haven't heard yet whether the Ducks plan to wear it as a patch on their jerseys next season, but I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Elsewhere, we should also get a 25th anniversary logo for the Florida Panthers as well, who joined the NHL in 1993-94 along with the Mighty Ducks.
