It's another Seattle Saturday! Alec Jespersen makes his debut on the Concepts page with a look that seems to be inspired by the MLS's Sounders.
This week, Seattle Saturday brings us a reimagining of the Metropolitans from Dallas Kirkpatrick. Makes great use of the Seahawks' colors if nothing else.
In two days, the NHL's expansion to Las Vegas gets real when the new team finally announces its name and logos. But we're looking beyond that today. Could Seattle be team No. 32? Lucas Daitchman imagines bringing back the old Metropolitans — and then considers what that might look like in Seahawks colors.
When Seattle inevitably gets its NHL team, they'll have a built in Christmas/throwback jersey from the old Metropolitans. Wade Herrmann shows us what it might look like. But if you don't want to wait that long to see it, the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds dressed up in these earlier this month! They looked good!
Every week I say Seattle's future NHL team can't be named the Metropolitans. And every week I post a Metropolitans concept. We're four posts into Seattle Sundays, and they've all been great, they just have the wrong name at the top. This week, Bart Wentink has a bit of a Christmas theme going with his chosen shades of red and green. But that third... you know whatever we name that team, we will end up wearing that jersey against the Vancouver Millionaires one day.
