Avalanche Control

Now that we've gotten through all of what's new in 2014, let's look ahead to 2015 and what other teams are in dire need of new uniforms. Many would argue the Colorado Avalanche fit the bill and Justin Cox has just the solution in time for the club's 20th anniversary in Denver.

Go Totems!

As the reality of the NHL in Seattle inches ever closer, take in this classic concept by Bastian Schmülling. Green and black may be Stars territory, but with a few adjustments, this could be a great look for the Emerald City's inevitable franchise.

A Minnesota Winter

Imagine the Colorado Avalanche meet the Minnesota North Stars for a future Winter Classic. Then imagine they wear these jerseys by John Elbertson. How epic would that be?

Snapback Freak Out

Zephyr has produced some unique NHL-branded hats in their time. Most intriguing to me is that it seems a past edition of the Snapback series was designed by someone who was color blind. And it inspired Bryan Dyck to create a series jerseys based on the unusual colors.

It makes for the perfect Freak Out Friday post.

They're pretty bizarre, but I kind of dig Chicago and San Jose. Are there any you like?

WHA Revival, Part 4

What would the WHA look like if it were still around 40 years later? Nick Burton is resurrecting the league with some unique new uniform designs. What do you think of this modern redesign of the Cleveland Crusaders?

Before the Flames moved north, Calgary was home to the Cowboys. If they'd survived, where might Atlanta's former team have moved in 1980?

And finally, you knew we'd have to end up here — the New England Whalers. They did survive the WHA's merge with the NHL, but were renamed the Hartford Whalers. If the team never moved to North Carolina, imagine what they might've looked like in their original colors.

Hope you enjoyed Nick's series as much as I did!
