Return to Adirondack

I'm skipping the standard Freak Out Friday in favor of a preview for a new AHL team. It was recently announced the Abbotsford Heat will move to Adirondack and become the Flames next season — replacing the Phantoms who are moving to Glens Falls.

Steve Maurer shares his take on potential uniforms for the new Flames. The team will wear a version of the old Atlanta Flames logo.

By the way, I've been unusually busy away from the website lately, hence the lack of updates to the blog. But as summer begins, I hope to get back to regular reports once again. Thanks for bearing with me.

Striking

One of the ways I like to celebrate my birthday every year is with a special concept — a personal favorite for my favorite team. This year, Nick Burton submitted a rather striking third jersey idea for the Bolts. Normally I can't stand a gradient on a hockey sweater. But I think I'd make an exception here. What about you?

By the way, I know we were supposed to wrap up Brendan Hennessy's Throwback Thursday series today, but look for that next week instead.

Silver Kings

As the 2014 Stanley Cup Final gets underway later tonight, David Parkinson presents a shiny new third jersey for the Los Angeles Kings. I'm calling it Stanley Cup silver. (Hope that doesn't jinx anything.)

Retro Yotes

The newly renamed Arizona Coyotes will pay tribute to their past this season when their wear their original 1996 jerseys for a night. Brandon Holmes goes a step further with his concept, bringing back both the home and road attire.

Here's a concept hot off the presses from Dallas Kirkpatrick. He literally emailed it to me this morning. Normally I'm working from a backlog, but I'm traveling this week and I managed to leave behind the hard drive where I backed up all our upcoming concept art.

So I'm having to mine my recent emails for posts over the next several days. Things should be back to normal by the weekend.

Keeping the streak alive!
