0536: Soldier On

The Columbus Blue Jackets are named for the soldiers who fought for the North in the American Civil War. Maybe they should start looking like it. Brandon Manzione designed this brilliant logo along with a part of sharp sweaters. What do you think? Time to ditch the flag-wrapped star?

0535: Bringing Back Brooklyn

Today, Brian Brideau presents an alternate jersey for the New York Islanders — featuring the wordmark crest used during the 1941-42 season by the Brooklyn Americans.

And not for nothing, but it seems the NHL is already cashing in on that wordmark. The t-shirt above was spotted at the NHL Store in New York City by Brandon Holmes.

0534: Burning Flames

Steven Grant recently sent in this design for the Calgary Flames. It features new shades of red and gold and an homage to the old Calgary Cowboys on the shoulders. And what do you think of the flames on the sleeves?

0533: Metropolitan Green II

I'll be honest, I don't know if the new Seattle Sunday series was a hit or not last week because I wrote and scheduled this post three weeks ago. And I've been on vacation during that time so I probably haven't had time to make any edits. So how about a second take on the green Seattle Metropolitans idea? Andrew Krause put together a really clean look. I'm still not a fan of the name, but I could get behind any team that looked this sharp.

0532: A Mile High Winter

Another Winter Classic Weekend is already upon us. So let's flash forward to 2015 again. (We did that recently for the All-Star Game.) First-timer Steve Maurer plans a Denver-based game between the Avalanche and the Wild. What do you think? Good match-up?
