0598: Red Flames

How about another theme week? Got a lot of neat concepts recently that are heavy on red. So this is Red Week! We kick things off with a scarlet take on the Calgary Flames by Jeremy Klassen, who's keeping the yellow to a minimum. Of note is the white flaming C. What do you think? Especially compared to the Flames' recently leaked third jersey?

0597: Seattle Emeralds II

This Seattle Emeralds concept is in no way related to the one from last Sunday, so it's just a coincidence that Norway's Andrés Godoe has used the same name. Andrés says he came up with this design for a simulation hockey league.

After a couple months worth of Seattle Sundays, I'm retiring this theme for a little while. That doesn't mean you won't still find Seattle NHL concepts on these pages. It just won't be on Sunday.

Starting next weekend, the New York Islanders will be our Sunday feature. You can't believe the number of Islanders concepts I've been getting since the move to Brooklyn was announced and the new third jersey confirmed. They're all interesting in their own way and I want to take the time to feature them properly. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

0596: Winter in Denver

We recently learned that Washington, D.C. will play host to the 2015 NHL Winter Classic. But before we knew that, Jamie Robertson imagined Denver hosting a game between the Avalanche and Wild. So it won't be 2015, but maybe somewhere down the road? It has the potential to be a great-looking game.

0595: Colorful Freak Out

Steven Grant has been working on a series to "de-Edge" the NHL — returning the jerseys to the days before 2007 when Reebok changed some things. But I can't say I'm a huge fan.

Steven wrote, "I haven't seen many concepts for the Blackhawks that use the colours from the logo in the striping, so that's what I tried here."

0594: Dual Blue Avs

Devin Durocher made a handful of tweaks to the Avalanche's uniforms — and even the logo. But while I like the two-tone blue color scheme to an extent, the logo without the oval leaves it looking a little off-balanced. What do you think? Good idea for the Avs?
