Mile High Stadium Spectacular

Since the NHL Stadium Series began last year, it has been marked by modern or even futuristic style jerseys for the teams involved. But that's no reason we can't dream that the NHL will come to its senses in 2016. That's when the Avalanche will host the Red Wings outdoors. Tyler Kochan envisions some eye-catching retro designs!

Flint Freak Out

Earlier this week, The Hockey News reported on the possible new name of the OHL's Plymouth Whalers, which will relocate to Flint, Michigan next season.

Apparently, Flint Tropics is one of the names in the running — the same name as a fictional basketball team in Will Ferrell's 2008 film "Semi-Pro."

What's funny is that Nick Burton applied the Tropics branding to a hockey uniform and sent it to me almost three years ago! I've had it in my vault not quite sure how/if/when to post it.

When this week's news came out of Flint, I realized there'd never be a more appropriate time to share it with the world. What do you think?

But wait, there's more.

As a bonus, Nick put together another version of his Tropics concept this week.

By the way, this name has inspired more than one artist. Expect us to revisit the Flint Tropics in the near future.

Improving On the Improved

It's difficult to improve on the St. Louis Blues jerseys after they basically perfected them this season. But Andrew Bourne is trying anyway. What do you think? Better, worse or same?

Flying Right

Anyone up for a new Philadelphia Flyers jersey? David Parkinson suggests this as a nice third. But what about a future Stadium Series game? (You'll know they'll play one eventually.)

Mixing Up History: Los Angeles

The Kings' black and white look is unquestionably dull. Matt McElroy decided to liven things up by adding their old colors back into the mix.
