0435: Team Germany

I'm very much enjoying these International Sundays. On this one, we get a look at Bastian Schmülling's take on Germany, his home country. Bastian has also created ad-free versions of jerseys from the DEL, the Deutsche Eishockey Liga — the German Hockey League. I'm working to get some of those posted here at some point if you guys are interested in seeing them.

0434: Classic Detroit Alternatives

Matt McElroy was not thrilled with the Detroit Red Wings' 2014 Winter Classic uniform. That's putting it mildly. He was so disappointed he came up with not one but four different alternatives that could've worked just as well — or even better. And not one features "vintage white."

Interestingly, the design on the upper right (the opposite of the Wings' 2009 Winter Classic jersey) will be worn in the alumni game prior to the Winter Classic next year. So maybe one wish will come true.

0433: Fiery Freak Out

We'll end the week where it began: Calgary. I was thinking before that alternate logo featured Monday could be construed a bit to look like the Calgary Tower was on fire. This old concept by Lewis Dupuis leaves positively no doubt. I laugh every time I see it so I decided it was finally time to get it on the site. Yikes!

0432: Carolina Black

This concept by Avi Stein is a fairly simple mix between Hurricanes and the current NHL All-Star uniforms. This jersey actually kind of works for them. Maybe a replacement third?

0431: South Florida Classic

This week has accidentally had a theme of classic-looking hockey sweaters. Today, Nick Burton brings a bit of tradition to the Florida Panthers. In fact, when they first took the ice 20 years ago, the Cats looked a lot like this. I'd call it a huge improvement over what they wear today.
