0608: It's All in the Logo

I wouldn't say I'm in favor of the Maple Leafs changing their logo, but if they were to do it, Johnny Woods has some neat conceptual ideas. Look closely at the outline of the leaf and you'll be able to make out the letters "TML." Pretty clever.

0573: Fearsome Flames

It's Friday the 13th, so you were probably expecting something scary. But think about it. Imagine the possibility of the NHL looking to sublimated artwork that wraps around an entire jersey. Now that's something to truly fear.

Johnny Woods, who designed this set, wrote: "This is in the family with the Canada Cup jersey, Vancouver's Flying V and the Burger King jersey. Personally, I would buy one."

0468: Triple Dallas Freak Out

I know we're mostly hockey fans here, but does anyone recognize where Ted Noakes got his inspiration for this jersey design? It's a Freak Out Friday home run!

Antonio Calisto has a fascinating set of Stars uniforms to share — but since it has no actual connection to the team itself, I felt compelled to give it a Freak Out Friday placement. I mean, what's with the throwback that doesn't throw back to anything? The great thing about the Stars is they do in fact have a decent uniform history to draw on.

Finally, we wrap up our second solid week of Dallas Stars concepts with this from Johnny Woods. He even has this smattering of logos he's come up with. Certainly trying to be creative and I love to see that.

0188: Oakland Freak Out

It started innocently enough. John J. Woods was designing this new sweater for the Oakland Seals when he suddenly saw new potential in that old logo. And that's where the freak out angle comes in.

0119: Be a Renegade

Jersey design voting for the IceHL Project's final division ended last week but today we get a look at what might've been. Johnny Woods wanted to enter this design for the Regina Renegades but couldn't come up with a white counterpart that worked. I told him this might be a good submission for the third jersey contest that we'll hold next summer, but he wanted to see it on the site sooner to get some feedback. And I agreed. Thoughts?
