0445: A Neat WHA Trio

Let's blow up WHA Week with not just one or two concepts but three from the prolific Bryan Dyck! Today, he shares his take on the Ottawa Nationals...

...the Houston Aeros (before the AHL team assumed the name)...

...and the Toronto Toros (or Birmingham Bulls depending on the year), who used to be the Nationals. Full circle. Bryan actually did more than just these teams in his own WHA series, but I thought three was enough for today. Tomorrow we get another taste of this — a prolific concept artist with a trio of WHA jerseys.

0444: Swimming With Sharks

WHA Week continues with this one from Nick Burton. I'm not sure whether it's intended to be a San Jose Sharks jersey featuring the old Los Angeles Sharks logo — or an L.A. Sharks jerseys with San Jose colors. Either way, it's pretty cool.

0443: Reviving the WHA

You know what we haven't done in a while? A theme week. So I have a solution. This week I'll be featuring all concepts for or inspired by teams from the WHA — the old World Hockey Association. We kick it off with this Indianapolis Racers sweater from Ryan Yuck. It bears the name and number of Wayne Gretzky, who played eight games for the franchise before being sent to Edmonton.

0442: Team Sweden

Happy Cinco de Mayo! ...From the good folks of Sweden. If I had a Mexican concept to share on this International Sunday, believe me I would. Instead, you'll have to settle for this superb Swedish sweater from the ever-busy Matt McElroy.

0441: A Chicago Classic

On Wednesday, the NHL announced the first of reportedly six outdoor games next winter as part of the 2014 Stadium Series. Among them will be the Chicago Blackhawks hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins. Today, Dylan Alexander brings us a rather black and white take on a potential "Winter Classic" style throwback.
