Original Six Classic

With the 2015 NHL Winter Classic behind us, Jamie Robertson is ready to start thinking about how the 2016 game will come together. He writes:

Here is a concept for the 2016 Winter Classic, rumored to be in Boston (again).
I used the light uniform worn from 1935 to 1938 in Montreal as inspiration, as well as integrating the CA logo onto the arms much like Chicago did in this year's Winter Classic. I also added stripes on the arm which matches the socks they wore along with the jersey I previously mentioned.
For Boston, I used shoulder and waste striping from their jerseys worn from 1932-36 but then changed the arms to give reference to their 1925-26 uniform.

Hard to go wrong with a gold and brown Bruins sweater.

Freaky Minnesota

John Elbertson brings us to this week's Freak Out Friday with what the Minnesota Wild might look like if they shared the color palette of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings. Scary sight.

Correcting Carolina

Most Carolina Hurricanes concepts wrap the storm flags around the waist and sleeves, but Dylan Nowak tried something different. What do you think?

All-Retro All-Stars

The 2015 NHL All-Star Game in Columbus is just over two weeks away yet we still have not gotten official confirmation on the jersey designs. While we continue to wait, check out this concept from D'Arcy Murphy. He envisions the old East-vs-West format along with a more traditional sweater aesthetic — a far cry from what we're likely to see on Jan. 25.

Pirate Penguins

It's impossible to go very long without seeing a great new concept from Nick Burton. It's practically inevitable that the Penguins will go full time with their new '80s-era third jersey. When that happens, they could reach back into pre-Pens Pittsburgh hockey history for alternate inspiration. That could be epic.
