Chi-Town Retro

I really think the Chicago Blackhawks should go back to having a third jersey. And I really think this concept by Dylan Wonka would be perfect.

The MLB Collection, Part 2

David Parkinson has been at work designing hockey sweaters for Major League Baseball teams — sweaters inspired by the local hockey franchises. Last week he tackled the American League. This week it's the National League.

If you're curious, here's a list of what teams David based his jerseys on:

  • Arizona Diamondbacks based on Coyotes
  • Atlanta Braves based on Thrashers (1999)
  • Chicago Cubs based on Blackhawks
  • Cincinnati Red based on Cincinnati Stingers (WHA, 1975)
  • Colorado Rockies based on Avalanche
  • Los Angeles Dodgers based on Kings
  • Miami Marlins based on Florida Panthers
  • Milwaukee Brewers based on Milwaukee Admirals (AHL)
  • New York Mets based on Islanders
  • Philadelphia Phillies based on Flyers
  • Pittsburgh Pirates based on Penguins
  • San Diego Padres based on San Diego Mariners (WHA, 1974)
  • San Francisco Giants based on San Jose Sharks
  • St. Louis Cardinals based on Blues
  • Washington Nationals based on Capitals

David has more concepts like this for other sports. If you'd like to see them, let me know!

Stadium Sharks

When the San Jose Sharks take the ice outdoors for the first time next February, might they look something like this? This Stadium Series concept by Erik Kuhre even features the requisite chrome-ified crest.

California Flip-Flop Freak Out

We saw the Flyers and Penguins swap jersey templates in a Freak Out Friday concept two months ago. Today, Justin Wiltron gives a couple of California teams the same treatment. Truly, they both still look great.

Hartford Grey

If the Hartford Whalers were still around today, I figure they probably would've worn a grey third jersey at some point. But it's not just me. Steven Grant apparently likes the idea too. Gorgeous concept.
