Cards on the table, weird week. First, I forgot about Canada Day on Monday and posted a Mighty Ducks concept instead. (Sourry aboat that.) Then the Coyotes deal passed in Glendale Tuesday canceling my idea of running some Seattle concepts the rest of the week. Then I remembered yesterday was the 4th of July so I grabbed a last-minute Americans concept. And I thought I'd make up for missing Canada Day with a Canadiens concept today. But it's Friday, so this happened. Ryan Yuck has done some things to the Montreal Canadiens' logos and uniforms. But try not to freak out. Happy Friday.
It's America's birthday, so how about an Americans concept? The New York Americans, to be precise. Niklas Brinkmann has a full uniform set based on the classic logos of this former NHL club. (By the way, apologies to my Canadian friends for not properly marking your nation's birthday on Monday. I'll make it up tomorrow. Sort of...)
Rarely do we get really neat concept logos on this page. Most folks just put together jersey designs. But Rudolf Vychovaly has a really superb Pittsburgh Penguins logo here. Can't say the same about the jerseys, but definitely a cool bird.
We mark a Concepts page milestone today with the marking of a Toronto Maple Leafs milestone by Trisan Mani. Our 500th post is a special uniform and logo for the Leafs' 100th anniversary — which is still a few years away. It's a sharp look. Worth the wait.
