/The most common Winter Classic rumors these days have the Capitals hosting the Flyers in 2015. To that end, John Elbertson shares his unique take. A two-tone blue jersey for the Caps? Seems unlikely given the nature of the Winter Classic, but it certainly makes for a cool concept, doesn't it?
Gradient Triple Freak Out

Steven Grant is normally one of the voices of reason on the Concepts page. Today, he steps out of that role for a fun Freak Out Friday experiment — with dreaded gradients! There are three concepts in the slideshow above, so be sure to flip through.
The first is a dark reimagining of the L.A. Kings' original third jersey from 1996. Then comes a Calgary jersey with stripes that actually look like flames. And finally, there's a Hurricanes design I couldn't possibly describe. Time for the weekend!
Modern Yet Classic
/The always prolific Bastian Schmülling presents us with another excellent concept. Many would agree the Penguins desperately need new uniforms. Some want to see the team go back to their '80s-era sweaters, but something more modern is more likely. I think what Bastian has created is the perfect happy medium between the two.
Unique Utica
/One of the complaints that came with the introduction of the AHL's Utica Comets was its reliance on the look of its parent club. The Comets wear Canucks jerseys with a different logo on the front. Last week, a couple of people asked to see a concept and a couple of artists obliged.
Matt McElroy submitted the design above, writing: "Here's my take on a Comets "clash" style jersey. I've gotten sort of tired of the traditional home and away set up so this jersey is design to just be a "clash" to what the other team wears. Home or road; doesn't matter."
Justin Wiltron went in a slightly different direction, changing the team's primary color to green. Or perhaps this would work as a nice third jersey.
