0638: Outdoors in the Windy City

I always get a kick out of seeing to different artists come up with unusual yet remarkably similar ideas independently. That's what we have for this Outdoor Saturday post. Newcomers Brendan Hennessy (above) and David Parkinson (below) saw the same old photograph depicting the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Black Hawks. It got them thinking about how the Soldier Field Stadium Series game could look.

So who do you think pulled it off better? Or do you like half of each? Both are very well done and could easily work for the big game if you ask me.

0637: Thinking Outside the Circle

This Freak Out Friday is designed to make you "think outside the circle," according to designer Johnny Woods. He's put together jerseys for the Islanders and Sabres, teams that have traditionally employed circular crests. Hit or miss?

0636: Nashville Back in Blue

Ben Macdonald has been a regular contributor to our IceHL jersey design contests. Today, he presents a blue third jersey for the Nashville Predators — inspired by the team's previous alternate uniform. I could see this working out very nicely!

0635: Dual Blue Nordiques

It's always fun to feature a sharp Quebec Nordiques concept. What do you think of this one by Peter Livermore? Here's what he had to say about his design:

I wanted to incorporate some elements from the early 90's Nordiques uniform and the stanley cup winning Quebec Bulldogs uniform from the early 1900's, all the while creating a fresh look for the team. Hopefully I accomplished that.

0634: The Jets Set

The military theme of the Winnipeg Jets seems to be pretty popular. Avi Stein has taken it a step farther with this minimalist set.

He's even included a throwback-inspired third jersey.
